I'm 42 and had cancer in 2004, can I get life Insurance now?

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Mar 2010
Unfortunately, that could be hard unless you can get in a group. You are too young for AARP. If anyone out there has ideas, please put them up on line! We've had others ask.

Your best route on your own is to try (and you may have done this) an agent who represents many companies. Good luck. We have many people who can't get insurance. It's very tough.

Life insurance is available to cancer survivors! The type of life insurance available to you will depend on the type and staging of your cancer. Life insurance companies will typically postpone you for a period of time after cancer treatment is complete. After that, it may be possible to obtain. Look for an impaired risk life insurance expert. Mike Horbal
