I've been caring for my mom for two years. She receives disability but it isn’t enough. I have a lot of out-of-pocket expenses caring for her. Am I allowed to claim her as a dependent on my taxes this year?

I've been caring for my mom for almost two years. she started receiving disability in September of 2008 to current. It helps but with Dr. bills and medications etc. I have alot of out of pocket expenses caring for her. Am I allowed to claim her as a dependent on my taxes this year?

Likely you can. I would see a CPA for the details in your state, but there are options for claiming her if you have enough out-of-pocket expenses. Please look into it.
