How can I get a nurses waiver where the state could pay me to care for my grandmother?

Hi, my name is Rachael I am 21 and I quit my job May 1 2007 to care for my grandfather who has Alzheimers and is bedridden and my grandmother who has had 3 open heart surgeries and a pace maker. During her last open heart she had a major stroke which left her legally blind. I am married and having a hard time making ends meet and a harder time trying to get help fincially. My grandmother pays me what she can but not enough to live on and I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about getting a nurses waiver where the state could pay me. If anyone has any information at all please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Rachael Cramer

THIS Is THE FIRST QUESTION ASKED ON AGING CARE. Com. It's definitely still the most asked question today!

I would recommend that the person who inquired call the Medicareright.org consumer hotline to discuss her situation with one of the counselors. There may be other services available to your loved one that you are unaware of. The hotline number is (800) 333-4114, and it is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern.
