Begging for death to come.

Grandfather died a few years ago, nearly one year following grandma's death. Though he was not ailing, and was provided with the care needed by my parents, he regretted deep Inside the death of his wife, my grandma, without mentioning that to us in speaking. When dying, he looked up, and seemingly wished for the onset of death. He smiled to the death angel, and looked quite serene. In the presence of my parents, I did say aloud that my grandfather wished then to be buried just by my gradma's side, wwhich he clearly appreciated, without uttering a single word, though. I could read that on his face, which lightened up, even more. Did any of you share a similar experience? If not, could you relate your own observation of the final moments of a dying person? Is DEATH still a mysterious enigma?
