Paying for care

I was wonder if my father wanted to pay me for taking care of him 24/7. Do we need a contract, other then the Power of Attorney?

I am keeping track of time spent shopping, doctor's appts, ER treatment, cleaning....anything above and beyond just a visit since my sister visits only twice a year(she lives 6 hrs away). Everything is expected to be settled in half. I do not feel that to be fair since my husband and I are her caretakers.
This documentation will be given a $ amount when the time comes. So advised my lawyer
