Enjoyed reading your latest trial/tribulation. On aging...I remind myself, it beats the alternative. Guessing there will come a time that my mind will change on that.
Regarding the length of your writing.. you write like I do, to get things in perspective, not necessarily to need the advice of an editor (Wes Tracy). Best of Luck to us all!

John, I live just across the Potomac over in northern Virginia and that was some blizzard we had. My Dad had just moved a couple weeks prior to Sunrise and we were glad he was there [it was his decision to move].... and he said it was so nice to be able to watch the snow and not have to worry about shoveling out his driveway and walkways. Yes, at 94 my Dad would be out there with shovel in hand.

You are fortunate to have a nice young couple living with you. Sounds like a win-win situation.

I know how you feel when it comes to thinking you might have dementia, as I go through that myself. My gosh, it takes me a while to remember names and places, and that scares me. Forget math, I usually have to add up something 2 or 3 times before I feel confident the total is correct. But the test my primary doctor gives me says it's just normal age memory decline and not to worry.... yeah, easy for her to say.... [sigh].

Memories and pain--my wife of 65 years recently died 12 years deep into Parkinson's. Helpful in that it reinforced some of the things I did right as her caregiver. But as a retired editor, and if we were talking about precious inches on paper, I would cut it by at least one-third. Cheers, Wes Tracy
