We are not a care agency. The cost of caring can be a lot depending on the persons needs. The people who can get help are usually low income. Cost of care is usually out of pocket. As suggested call your Office of Aging for resourses. If Dad is a Vet, there maybe help there.
This is a forum of caregivers from around the world asking questions, sharing experiences and answering questions.
If you need help begin with your local Area Agency on Aging. Your local Senior Service Center ask what programs might be available. Also look into application for Medicaid if that is a possibility. If dad is a Veteran contact your local Veterans Assistance Commission or your States Department of Veterans Affairs and see what he might qualify for. If he is a Veteran there is a good possibility that if you are able to you can get paid to care for him. There are also Veterans Medical Foster Homes. Great program where a Veteran can move into a house that has been vetted and the caregivers trained and the cost if far less than a Skilled Nursing home. (If the Veteran is 100% Service Connected Disability rated they can qualify for a Veteran Home so the Foster Home fills in where a Vet would not qualify for a Veteran Home.
