My 84-year-old mother getting up in the middle of the night. Should I make her go back to bed?

My 84-year-old mother has dementia and Parkinson's. She sleeps a lot during day. She has been like this for the last 2 years. She has started getting up in the middle of the night around 1:00 or 2:00 am. She goes out into the living room and just sits in her chair. I can't stay up to watch her. If I tell her a couple of times to go to bed, she usually does. Should I be making her go back to bed?

Can you not just put an inexpensive security camera in the living room to check on her periodically if need be, so you all can rest without getting out of bed?
If your mother's not getting into anything and is just sitting in her chair, why not just let her be?
I would only be concerned if your mother wanders, as she could very easily wander outside and end up getting lost or worse.
Or if she would decide she wanted something to eat and leave the stove on.
You know your mother best, so it's up to you to do what is best for the both of you.
