If Mirapex continues to help as I step up the dosage, does that mean I have Parkinson's?

My doctor is working on coming up with a formal diagnosis. She had initially thought I had essential tremors, but the propranolol made me sick and alcohol actually exacerbated my symptoms.

So now she is leaning toward Parkinson's and put me on Mirapex. I have only been on it one week on a low-dose, with a step up plan. I am already feeling some relief.

Thanks!

I'd advise you to do some reading online, the Micheal J Fox Foundation is a good place to start. My own mom was put on sinemet chiefly because of her tremors, but she had essential tremor for years before that and I have never been convinced her parkinsonism symptoms are a result of PD. It takes a neurologist experienced in PD to make a diagnosis, and even then it can be difficult in the early stages.

BTW, glad you are getting some relief!
