I would love to try the ipod idea for my ALZ mom, but she is completely deaf in one ear. Would an ipod work for her?

I watched the amazing video posted by another on this site:

Mom loves all types of music from bagpipe music to classical to Josh Grobin. She used to play the piano and teach piano lessons. My experience with my ipod is that both ears are really needed. Is there a one-ear type of music player that would work for my mom?

Could you get her a speaker to plug the iPod into to make the music louder? I got that for my dad, who was pretty hard of hearing. He couldn't hear the iPod when it was plugged into his ears, but when I put it in a speaker/dock, he could hear it. Of course then everyone else can hear it too, so I don't know if that would be an issue or not.

I don't know - but heck, it's worth a try!
