Is Parkinson's hereditary?

Yes, Parkinson's can be hereditary. My father has Parkinson's and my youngest brother has Parkinson;s. My father;s doctor told us that it can be in every generation or can skip a generation. Mostly in the male gender, but not always. My dad has 5 children, 2 daughters and 3 sons. Only one has Parkinson's. If you get Parkinson's the sooner you can get on medication, the slower it progresses. You can have your Neurologist do a test if you thing you suspect Parkinson's. I think that there is not a diffident answer how it works in genetic.

Apparently some cases involve a genetic mutation and that can run in families, but it doesn't sound like that is the typical case.
