When I came home from visiting my dying mother my cat came over and sat right on my chest and sniffed my face. My mother died four hrs. later. He may of just sensed how upset I was. But its interesting for sure since he never did that before.

Wonderful! I took my hyperactive, puppy Sheltie to visit my brother-in law about two months before he died. This dog could not sit still. He was only about a year old. He is now three and still can't sit still. But we entered the room, he jumped up in bed with Dave and laid right down next to him. He put his head on Dave's arm and never moved for an hour and a half. I couldn't believe it. We returned to the nursing home several times and I could never believe how calm the dog was when we got near a suffering patient. Animals are amazing.
