You sound like a very savvy lady, acting partly on common sense and partly on pure inspiration. Your parents are very fortunate to have you looking out for them. May their trials be eased and may you thrive emotionally and physically.
P.S. When my father's meds made him constipated, I bought some nice plump, sweet, organic prunes. That helped immensely. If your folks can't eat prunes or drink prune juice, there are other foods that they can safely use on a daily basis to keep them "regular." Try adding ground up flax seed to their cereal or soup.
I can relate to your week, I do it every day driving across town and taking mom to brain therapy twice a week and getting dad to his appointments. It's all in the prioritizing and focusing on what is really important. You are a rock star and should truly feel proud. It's not something anybody or everyone can do so CONGRATS to you. 😀
When MIL got to rehab and threw a hissy fit, I informed the nurses and left. I did not return for 3 days. That gave the staff the opportunity to work on her attitude.
