AngieGuido74, I am only 59 years old but I have osteo and rheumatoid arthritis as well a fibro myalgia. I want to personally thank you for taking care of your father and now your younger brother. I do believe God knows your heart and there will indeed be a place for you with Him in Heaven. My 60 year old brother is a Hospice CNA and I am a certified family home care aid for my beautiful Mother, 82, my step father, 82, and my 75 yr old Uncle. I work full time as a Community Liaison Officer for Healthcare Plus Seniorcare, where I am also employed to care for my 3 family members. I do hair on the weekends some still, and I'm exhausted!!!!!!! BUT, I thank God every day for having the honor and privilege to be able to take care of all the seniors I get to help, especially my family members. I lost my Dad May 30th. I never got to offer him much help as his wife who is 15 yrs his junior was always there for him, or my brother helped. So, in this season of giving and giving thanks I would like to give thanks to every and all caregivers, no matter what form you come in!!!!!!! God bless us all!!!!!!

i am 76 and helping to take care of my brother he is 73. not all carecarers are young. his daughter does limited things bc she has work, a family and is married. there is no one else around to help my brother and his dog. he is very stubborn and at times it's frustrating. i took care of my father as well. i'm hoping i have a place in heaven when the time comes for me. God Bless all caregivers.

Thank you, Mr.Schappi! I could not have expressed this as well as you did, and I appreciate it so much!

I am currently caregiver for my Alz husband and alone on one side of the country while my family and friends reside on the opposite side, thousands of mile away. I have one health aide, but otherwise am on my own. I would so love to forward your article to everyone I know!

It is difficult for anyone not in this situation, or even near one, to understand. I so want the younger generations to play attention and plan for this. Our plan was to retire to the western country and have fun! That didn't work out and I had to formulate a late-day plan by myself! It would have been better if I had had an inkling of what was to come.

Please know I will be thinking of you for a long time to come. If I may be so bold I think you have spoken for many. Best of all things to you, sir, a hard journey ahead for you. God bless you.
