What is the New York State Law regarding my mother's credit cards that weren't paid when she went into a nursing facility in 2007? She was on Medicaid upon entering and due to the fact she had insuficient funds to pay her debts, the Credit Card companies placed judgments against her house that was in my name but she was listed as life use of the house. Upon her death in Oct 2013, the house was mine. Do the judgments come off? Is there a statute of limitation?

What federal or state programs are available so I can receive financial aid to care for my elderly and partially disabled mother? I live in Nevada and I cannot work outside the home because of the care she needs. What are the names of these agencies and how do I contact them? Tahnk You.
