Hear from Someone We’ve Helped
This is a very long-winded way of saying that I’m grateful for the “Amanda’s” of the world. You never know whose life you might touch just by lending an empathetic ear in a time of need.
ELISA B., ALBAQUERQUE NMGood morning,
I hope this message finds its way to Amanda. I wanted to thank her so very much for taking the time to listen to all of my concerns last evening. I called from the emergency room, where I was with my elderly aunt and uncle for what ended up being over 10 hours! By hour 5, I was feeling a little desperate to try and be proactive and be a voice for my amazing family members who couldn’t be a voice for themselves.
Amanda answered the phone, at a time that I thought would have been after hours, and kind of talked me “off the ledge”. She explained certain protocol for accessing services and care for my dear family member. Then she followed up by emailing me the resources that she found…which was unbelievably helpful since I couldn’t find a pen to write anything down! You may not think being unable to find a pen is a big deal, but because I was drained and not thinking completely straight, it became an added stressor, which Amanda quickly remedied by saying she would just email me the info (phew!).
This is a very long-winded way of saying that l’m grateful for the “Amanda’s” of the world. You never know whose life you might touch just by lending an empathetic ear in a time of need.
Much gratitude,
Elisa B.
