Find Care & Housing
Folks of your parents' generation were taught that you had to have a BM every day to get rid of "the poisons" in their system. Kids were given cod liver ir castor oil every day to keep them "regular".

Would having her doctor tell her that daily isn't necessary help?

Isn't it funny the things they get "stuck" on?? I mean, who cares??

My MIL would try to force herself to poop every morning, especially if she was going somewhere. My goodness, just let nature take it's course, will ya??

So, you probably will not be able to reason with her. Wouldn't hurt to have her doc tell her what a "normal" BM schedule is.

Also, make sure she has the "tools" to keep herself regular. Probiotics, water, plenty of fiber, prunes. But if she overdoes it, of course, she could end of with a different problem. Just can't win sometimes, right?

My father would run tot eh ER if he didn't go everyday. That went over real well. He also over medicated with laxatives so I would be careful suggesting that.
