I need some new smoothie recipes for when I don’t feel like eating or as a treat for mom. Any ideas? I usually do frozen berries and vanilla yogurt. Sometimes throw in a banana too.

What are these green drinks that my daughter walks in my house with? I’m afraid to ask her. They look gross! Haha

I was too tired to eat tonight. I fed mom and hubby meatballs and spaghetti. I had a container of yogurt.

I want to cook veggie soup soon. I find chopping up veggies therapeutic!

Okay Smesh, how about a good recipe for chicken tamales using shortening (Crisco) in the masa? I loooove tamales but they must be porkless! If you have such a recipe, pm it to me and I will try it out at my earliest 😀! Because YUM!
Okay I am actually drooling here now. Cut to commercial for technical difficulties, excuse me a minute.... CLEANUP ON AISLE THREE PLEASE?

Haven't received much snow yet, but the winds are howling. Starting to wonder if the snow has pushed to the east. Nebraska looks like they are getting slammed.

Humm, did somebody say pasta? And potluck! I'll bring the lasagna... and cream of asparagus soup, made with creme fraiche, which is something I discovered only recently (hail, Google!). It's not much fun cooking just for three of us, especially when the grandchild turns his nose up at anything that looks, smells or tastes like a vegetable, lol! Cooking for a crowd's much more fun! Woo-hoo!

Gladimhere - stay safe, wherever you are! That weather scares me. Should pass north of me, but know that DH and I pray for all those affected.

Chili Relleno casserole is what I’d bring. It’s yummy and fairly easy.
(You'd think it would be a Mexican dish....but it isn’t). It’s made with whole, canned (Ortega) mild green chilies, jack and cheddar cheese, held together with egg, milk and flour. Salsa on top. Bake in oven 1 hour. Great alone or with other foods (as a vegetable dish).

Where and when? I’m ready! 😋

I think we should all get together for a pot luck some day, I'd love to try some of the regional/ethnic dishes I read about on here!

This morning I pulled out a sleeve of yeast that expired over a year ago and rather than toss it I tried one packet to see if it would proof . Well it did no problem, so tonight I will be having a panzerotti/calzone with a few extras left over to freeze for later. I didn't really follow a recipe so I hope it tastes OK.

Every once in a while I will have 'pasta parties' where I make pasta from scratch and serve to my great family. My mom has a sinus infection, so today seems like a great time for a pasta party :-)

Frozen hamburger patties, grilled in the oven and served on buns with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and condiments. Tough and tasteless, like cardboard. Will not buy them again but there are six left. Gradually getting the meat out of the house. Oh, and also cooked (steamed)a head of cauliflower, just till tender, served it with cheese. It was delicious! There will be more *vegetarian* dishes to follow! Dessert was some large frozen black grapes. Now there's a treat!!!

Pork chops, mixed green salad and what Mexicans call sopa fria (literally translated- cold soup) but it's just macaroni salad. (Some things just don't translate well.)

I cooked for a change, (hubs likes to do most of the cooking). I didn't forget how and it was pretty good! ;)

MM - The oyster bar is in Palace Station casino. It's off strip. The locals know the best places to eat. Here's the google link. One of the pictures is the dish with the red sauce. That's the one.

For dinner, N'awlins shrimps with pasta. This is a dish that I created based on two other dishes.

One is the famous N'awlins shrimp dish at King's Fish restaurant. Delicious.

The other is a creamy N'awlins seafood dish at a very busy oyster bar in Las Vegas. Even more delicious. There's always a line of people waiting to sit at the bar.
