Please take a bite of your homemade chocolate ice cream for me! Who needs the rest of the dinner? I do eat healthy meals but I won’t lie. Sometimes I will eat just desert for dinner and skip the rest of it. It’s usually when I need comforting and I am too tired too eat.

Guess I am rebellious at times! All through school we had plate check by the nuns. We had to eat every bite of yucky food.

This is why I brought my lunch most days. I hated the days mom was out of bread and I couldn’t have my beloved peanut butter and jelly sandwich and had to eat the school lunch.

Forget about trying to stuff the peas in the milk carton. Sister would shake the carton!

BBQ ribs, fried rice, green beans, kimchi, and homemade chocolate ice cream.
I haven't had homemade ice cream since I was a child, we would always have homemade ice cream, it was the best. So I thought I would take a crack at it. Delicious.

I had my usual black bean tacos( I am so boring, but I love them), and of course some ice cream.

Smeshque,
My lasagna come in a package, Michaelangelos frozen. Because, to buy that much variety would cost more.
There were carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and other veges that can be googled.
Very good, and I am not cooking much in this heat.

online:
Italian Tip #41:The secret to our vegetable lasagna is the medley of garden vegetables. Every bite is bursting with freshness and flavor. Zucchini, squash, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, spinach, kale, and cauliflower sit between layers of semolina pasta and ricotta cheese. Our lasagna wouldn't be complete without a traditional style vine-ripened tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Mangia— Let's eat!

Bellator- I am sorry you are feeling depressed. Hang in there.

Spaghetti, salad, italian garlic bread. Strawbeery shortcake(DH favorite)

I had my usual black bean in corn tortilla with lots of veggies on top. I resisted the strawberry shortcake today. YAY! But I had a piece of chocolate :(

I canned several jars of peach marmalade, and blackberry jam. We have an abundance of peaches. So tomorrow I will be canning peach pie filling.
I actually think it is fun canning fresh food for use later. I am kinda odd. :)

Chili Beans and cornbread, some club crackers and Smoked Gouda . Root Beer Floats.
For me black beans some crunchmaster crackers and the Gouda. Chocolate frozen yogurt,

This was my first time with the Gouda, I LOVE IT!!!! TOO MUCH!

CW- you reminded me of our dinners growing up and how our salad dressing was a mixture of miracle whip or mayo(whichever we had at the time)and ketchup. I had no clue until I was almost an adult that there were other salad dressings available in the world.
Mom would also make at times a wilted salad, with the bacon grease, Oh how I hated it, but they loved it.

Tonight I cooked the kind of meal I seldom make, like my mom fed us all the years I was growing up:
a simple salad (leaf lettuce with miracle whip dressing),
plain boiled potatoes (a big pot full so there are extra for potato salad or fried potatoes),
a veg (green beans from the garden)
and meat (pulled pork - mom would have done chops).
Of course mom would have had dessert too. Mmmm, maybe cherry or peach pie. (I wish)

I read a lot of recipes on line but still wasn't feeling it, so I just started winging it with stuff I had. When I tasted the sesame I thought "this would go well with beef", so I dug the steak out of my freezer. This time it turned out OK but honestly it could have gone either way😅

Yesterday bought some broccoli with really long fat stems so I cut the stems into matchsticks. Hm. I added in some celery, carrots and onion, then cut up some red peppers, mushrooms and snow peas. I stashed the whole lot in the fridge and went looking for inspiration.
Tonight I did a big stir fry with added ginger, garlic, sesame and soy sauce with slivers of strip loin - oh, and a little sriracha. Yum, with leftovers for another night.

BarbBrooklyn...One of the things I can not stand is Cilantro. People ask me if it tastes like soap but I don't get the "traditional" soap taste.

Tonight..A bit of left over salmon and some broccoli and rice.
Tomorrow..having a few people over, it would have been my Husbands birthday so having eggplant lasagna, home made bread, Key Lime pie (his favorite) and I made brownies for the non lovers of citrus pie.
