My Dad died from Alz and Mom is in a memory care unit w/ALZ. With both parents having suffered from Alzheimers, chances may be higher for me to end up with this dreadful disease. Does anyone know of any studies of folks with my family history of ALZ? I would like to participate in the research of the causes ALZ and the search for a cure.

Currently, Azheimer's has no cure yet and the cause is still unknown. Based on studies, it used to be linked to family history but it was not really proven. In addition, lifestyle, aging and cholesterol are some of the factors that could lead to alzheimer's disease. Since both your parents suffered from the disease, it is likely that you may also develop the same condition and you should be able to prepare for it. There is a study coming up called the TOMMORROW study (yes, two Ms) that is coming up. Contact the Cleveland Clinic for info.
