No. Dyslexia means difficulty reading, and it is a specific deficit due to a single stroke. Dementia is more global. Hopefully they are taking steps to prevent additional strokes though!

Do you mean that she can no longer read? How is her speech and comprehension of language? Are there visual disturbances of any kind? Let us know, hard to give you good feedback from a small bit of information.

Also, what to the doctors treating her tell you when you asked this question?

Also, just want to make sure that all the folks on here understand that a cerebral vascular accident is what is more commonly called a stroke.

yes a stroke. she can't read. she says that the letters are flying. the doctors told us that she may read after a while, but I don't believe it.
