I am new to this. What do all of the letters mean in some of the letters I am reading?

I read your profile; welcome to the forum! Your DH (dear husband) is suffering from Alzheimer's and staying up all night talking to people who aren't there, so the sleeping pills aren't working, you said. Call his doctor right away and explain the situation; the doctor may be able to change his prescription. It's common for people suffering from one of the dementias to have sleep difficulties, unfortunately. Speaking to people who aren't there is common too; we just had another poster who was complaining about the same thing with her loved one!
