Making contact I advised the staff I would call back w/surgery info. I did apprx 2 mos later. The facility is now owned by a different corp. Here is the kicker. When you leave a message an unkn/name/number calls you back. I do not answer those calls and they do not leave messages.. I emailed the facility and was advised to call their 800#. Ok I then contacted another facility one of the most "expensive in the state" and yes the same thing. If you need to reach them you call an offshore call center.

Many facilities, many Hospice organizations are going military-industrial complex fast and in a big way. Hospice is markedly changed, nearly in ruins compared to what it was as a result. Hedge funds buying up things that involve the elderly in a big way. As an 80 year old retired RN I can tell you things are going South in a big way in medicine, not only in this wise but in the fact that no one can get an appt anymore with an MD, we are all down to physicians assistants at best, and that sometimes month out.
Yes, this is the experience, and it is quite tragic. The aging populace now represents BIG MONEY and the BIG BIG BOYS want it all.

Maybe consider a board &care. In my state they are homes in residential neighborhoods and are licensed by the state for six residents. You may find it easier to get in touch. I recently had my mom in a board &care for ten days respite. It went very smoothly. Just a thought.
