Supreme Home Health has never sent me an itemized statement and has been paid in full by the insurance for all services billed. However, they state the insurance co. will not authorize any more visits because it is now not medically necessary. I confirmed with the carrier that Supreme Home Health did not forward medical records and falsified information on the recertification document in order to have it denied. My mother has been diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer's and sees a primary care doctor and a neurologist under the same insurance company who are paid for the covered services in full. Supreme Home Health interrupted service and refused to send the home health aide to my home. They have also asked for money upfront in the past and told me that insurance only covers 10 hours a week. I checked benefits and coverage before calling and they cover 35 hours a week. They changed their story and there was no problem for 2 months until they had to recertify her again. This time they said because we went on vacation we need to pay because the insurance requires a recertification if she goes out of town for two weeks. I have filed a grievance with the insurance company but now I need a reputable care giver which is so hard to find because of the scams they run on the elderly. Who do I report this to besides the insurance company so that other clients will not be taken advantage of?

Does this agency have LPNs and RNs? If so then your state Nursing board. If they bill Medicare maybe they could help. My insurance company stepped in when I couldn't get a refund due me from a doctor. Local office of the aging maybe able to help.

Ask if u can have someone come in to wash and cut his hair. Of course, u would have to pay. U have a right to speak up and find out why its not being done correctly. No hospital or care facility cuts hair, nails or toe nails. Where my daughter works has a poditrist coe in once a month.

I agree with JoAnn. My partners barber will come to our house. I just have to call and make the appt. Also, we have a nail person who comes and does his feet and hands as well as mine. The cost is so reasonable. Forget having them wash his hair. You could do it also.

We had blood work done just recently, It was done at the hospital. They said that some of the work (nearly $300.00 worth would not be covered by insurance. So, we paid that immediately. Now I have to fight to get it back. I have never been asked to pay anything with our insurance. So I guess I call the insurance company first.

You've got to make sure that the labs facilities use are OK'd by your insurance company. Ex: DHs doctor uses Quest for labs, OK for Medicare but husbands supplimental (thru union) only covers Lab corp. So we ended up paying the 20%.
