Definitely - atmospheric pressure changes can trigger behavioural changes in all animals and humans as can variations in light patterns

I always know a full moon is here when I go out and the traffic is crazy. More people cutting off people, so many near misses...just generally unpredictable and chaotic behavior on the road.

I say to my husband ... must be a full moon. :) I'm always right.

When I was in the hospital with my first born, I was on bed rest for 5 weeks, and when the full moon hit the nursing staff increased and they were all muttering to themselves about it's a full moon.

I asked about it and they said that the ER goes nuts during full moon, more accidents, more violence, as said above...more babies being born.

We are so connected to the earth, so much a part of it and even when we don't understand it we react and respond to extreme weather changes and the moon cycle among other things.

I found when I lived by the ocean I was even more sensitive to the moon cycles, when the the tides were high and low I could tell...it definitely felt different.

Good question...great observations. :)

Full moon is August 10th, so it is not that. Extremely low barometric pressure can affect behavior of any animal, even fish! So I will guess the approaching storm would be a factor.

I agree with Pam, low barometric pressure can affect anyone and any animal, one doesn't need to have memory issues. I know it can make me feel quite lightheaded.

As for a full moon, the birthing section of a hospital gets busier than usual with more births. Full moon also affects my cats, they go amuck.

Don't forget, in our young adults years, some of us gals would tend to get crabby once a month... that darn "curse" :0

Ronnie, you and my Dad would have a lot in common regarding the love of weather, like you said the wilder the better. I keep trying to get Dad to get cable TV so he can watch the Weather Channel 24/7, and to enjoy the "tornado chasing" shows.

I have often stood out on the craggy outcrops high on the Yorkshire Moors and witnessed nature roil the ky and drench the brush and heather, sending fingers of lightning down here and there, and rolling the thunder booms and rumbles from one side to the other. Thrilling!

I like your Dad.

Absolutely a full moon emits predictable and mystical drawing powers; especially to the aged. Many in law enforcement encounter those senior citizens who feel this lunar draw, to leave their living center and take a nice evening stroll. These officers may say "good evening sir/ma'am, it's a beautiful night for a walk. Do I have your permission to escort you back to your residence?"

No causal relationship between full moons, high or low tides, has been shown to affect a person's aggression continuum.

The suggestion that full moons require more meds for the mentally ill is fatuous, entirely without foundation, and ludicrous. Do I need to expand on this?

I have two dogs that are weather-sensitive and their behaviour changes when a storm is approaching, even hours before there is any change in barometric pressure. that is part of their defence mechanism, but human beings do not become angry unless they are angry folk, nor aggressive unless they are aggressive folk.

Gotta go now and comb my face - HOOOOOWL!

Correlation is not causation, nor, do anecdotal rememberances mean anything.
Maybe dog is responding to your discomfort at the possibility of a storm? Check hospital / police records and correlate frequency with event.

If you guys like storms...I live in a very stormy place...:) I've never seen such storms anywhere else so far...as far as lighting and thunder and wind, tornado's etc.

:) I'm sure that there are others areas that have even better storms, but Colorado is pretty intense. :)
