I am 69 and have recently developed a heart condition. My husband is 71 and has 100% disability from the service. Is there a group or agency which could provide help like that. We can afford to possibly pay someone at a reasonable rate or to supplement the pay the person gets from the group or agency which hires them. We want to stay in our home at least for a few years longer. Can you recommend someone or some group who could help?

When my dad was no longer able to do the outside work I asked some of thier neighbors for reccomendations. Worked out very well for us. I paid them even after the folks moved in with me while we were selling the house. If you are on a limited budget. and belong to a church or service group ( like the Masons or Knights of Columbus, etc) maybe they can get you some help?

Also, if you hubs was in the service and belongs to the American Legion, they may be able to come up with something?

Pam Z is right, find out who is cutting grass for other neighbors. Better to get an established, local, regular service with a good reputation than to pick through the ads.

I bet you could find some good suggestions from the people here as they are local folks.

I believe this is in your town. Careful who you let into your home. I cant believe the scammers that were calling Mom on her phone before I re-recorded her answering machine message. They sure know how to target the elderly.

I tried to go to website but got nowhere! Do you know if they have their own website?
I wanted to find some help with household and gardening chores. This looks like it is only a senior assisted living place. We want to stay in our own home as long as possible. Thanks for the answer I will try driving over there to see if I can get help from them.
