I am 45 year old caregiver. Christmas of 2005 my mom ad stepdad came to stay with me for a couple weeks.!! This past October my husband was placed on hospice due to liver failure. My husband has good and bad days.Recently more bad. My stepdad had a stroke a few years ago now is having mini strokes often and has gave up Because he can't do what he wants any more.I have a homemaker that comes in for two hours in the mornings during the week. I just don't know how much longer I can go on. I have been told God want put more on you than you can bare, but I sometime wonder if He remembers who I am?? I guess I just needed to vent. THANKS

i am happy to see you have faith, keep that close to your heart. if you want your parents to continue to stay with you, then you must get more assistance by eith having a care provider more oftern or get your parents into an adult daycare. this will give you some free time. as for your husband please utilize hospice they have alot of resources for you. if you need to you may want to place your parents in an assisted living. but by all means really take some time for yourself. you need to be strong yourself in order to care for others. you could also look into a respite stay at a local nursing home for your parents just to get a much needed break for yourself and your husband. may God Bless you and you will be in my prayers. kim

Sounds like stepdad may be able to do hospice. If SD ends up in the hospital you may want to tell them he can't come home. You have a good reason. They will arrange for a NH. Do you have POAs on him? If not, then maybe the state can take over his care. Or start now.
