Deanna Lueckenotte experienced Alzheimer’s at a personal level with her grandmother who is now no longer with her.
She is currently Community Education Liaison and Business Development Director at Georgetown Living Certified Alzheimer’s Assisted Living in Georgetown, Texas and has spent almost 10 years working in geriatric healthcare with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s. She also does consulting education on Alzheimer’s to nursing homes, assisted livings, home health, hospice and non medical home care. She volunteers with the Memory Walk, memory screenings as well as speaking at Alzheimer’s support groups, churches, VFW’s etc.
She received her BA in psychology with an emphasis on children with Autism and behaviors exhibited from UMHB in Belton, TX and University of North Texas in Denton ,Texas. During her years in healthcare, Deanna has obtained her Social Work license, Assisted Living license as well as her Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator.
She has done work towards a Master’s in educational psychology at Baylor University in Waco, Texas and would like to further her education in geriatric studies.
Deanna views working with Alzheimer’s as a lifestyle and not as a job. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son and their 2 lab dogs.
