My dad is 95 mentally doing exceptionally well but his lack of control while urinating as well as blood in the urine (due possibly from left over radiation treatment for prostate cancer from 1980's) but I am still concerned about the effects of the 15 minute operation because it is still an operation. My dad had a scope put into his penis and said he felt exceedingly better because of it . So he would like to go further and have the operation. I believe that my dad does definitely have a say in his own destiny but I am concerned if the benefit of such a procedure will out way the risk. I am still gathering information and I am on the fence regarding this operation. Our urologist says it is quite simplistic but my dad \is still 95 years old. Needless to say I am ambivalent about the idea regardless of the proscribed benefits for my dad

A whole bunch of men just screamed and left the room......
I would be asking Dad's primary if there are any other conditions that would make the procedure risky. I would ask how much risk there is with the anesthesia, what options are available that minimize risk.

Definitely ask what sort of anesthesia is used. I believe that's the main danger in a person of your dad's age.
