As a retired Military Veteran with 2 years active duty and 26 years in the Navy reserves, I see people stating that any Veteran with an honorable discharge can get free hearing aids from the VA. I find this to not be true. I was told I do not meet the means test (I make too much money in retirement). Been denied service connection to my hearing loss and tinnitus. In the appeal stage now but it doesn't look good for me to get hearing aids provided by the VA. Wondering who says a Vet can get free hearing aids from the VA?
My brother gets his through the VA as well. His is not service connected. His is determined through his other disability and his voluntary service during Viet Nam, even though he did not complete boot camp.
I know other veterans that get theirs through the VA but it depends on their level of disability.
