Medicaid paid the monthly rate, but now the nursing home wants the balance (around 4000) from me (POA).

Sorry, need to add information. She was in another nursing home that thought is was a good idea to give her therapy. I moved her to a home that was closer to me and when the old nursing home sent me a bill, it had the remaining balance for her stay (which I payed) and the additional charge for the physical therapy (first time I seen a bill for it). Im not sure why a patient, who was given 6 months to live, needs therapy.

The PT would have been ordered by a physician, and the bill should have gone to Medicaid. If you suspect an error, such as an unordered PT or one that was not signed for , challenge the bill.
