It's is because there taking away his only and last physical therapist, due to no impovements, they have done everything that they could do for my husband, there sending Hospice, out one day next week to talk to me ,I just want them to be honest with me ,I mean if taking away his physical therapist away is going to kill him then why take it away, I'm very concerned about this and very scared at this point ,I did ask why / wouldn't my husband get stiff from no movement witch would make him go down faster , guess that's why they want to bring in Hospice, ; (

Hospice is for the dying. Of course it is not always possible to predict someone's life span accurately. My mother was on hospice and was discharged in 3 months because she improved so much. My husband was on hospice and died in 5 weeks.

Tlc4782, I don't know who "they" are who are urging hospice care. Know that hospice only provides medicines and devices to keep the patient pain-free and calm. There are no more attempts to treat illnesses. That may be perfectly appropriate for your husband.

I think hospice is a marvelous service for those who are in end-of-life stage. It is intended for the dying.

I was at another doctor appointment with Mother's Primary doctor when he said he didn't realize I was caring for Mother on my own and that he could order Hospice and I asked if she was going to die and he said she was declining. Her diagnosis at first was Adult failure to thrive. He didn't think she'd last much longer but Mother was a fighter and God had His own plan so she set a record with her Hospice Company for being on their service so long...It was three and a half years straight........Maybe your husband is declining and the doctor just wants to get you some help. They'll send a nurse and bathaid, etc.to your home to check on him and they will help you with his care.
