Sometimes my kids would catch her standing in the bathroom and she would scare them. She even would stand in the hallway and not doing nothing! I’m not sure what is going on with her but this is starting to be a little too much for me to handle, and she also not sleeping.

Take her to her doctor and tell them what is going on. Scaring the heck out of you and your kids during the night is not a good thing. But, something is going on and you need to find out what. Is this all she does or have you noticed any other odd behaviors? She is young for this, but she may have early-onset dementia. A doctor is the only one who can diagnose this.

Your profile states that your mother has Alzheimer's Disease/dementia. How far along are you on this journey with her? At sixty five, she is young for it. Are you her primary caregiver? Are you and your kids living in her home, or has she moved in with you to be cared for?

I'm guessing that she gets stuck, she can't remember where she is and what she was trying to do so she freezes in place and is then unable to initiate a change. Maybe some night lights, they would help your kids if not her.
Unfortunately not sleeping at night is common with dementia and it can be a deal breaker for caregivers.... I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.

This is very sympathetic of Parkinson’s

getting stuck or freezing.

Has she been tested for Parkinson's? I am 72, although of sound mind, sometimes I will go into a room and think "What did I come in here for? I stand there for a minute and it comes back to me. Maybe just standing there is a reaction to not knowing where she is.

She is young, she could live for another 30 years, has any consideration been given to placing her in MC? Your children are being adversely effected by her behavior, they should be your priority as they will carry their childhood into adulthood, give this some deep thought.

Sending support your way.

what is frustrating to me is that I take her to the doctor to get some help. At first they said it was UTI they gave her medicine for it. It went away. I also heard that that will mess up elders brain having a UTI. My mom is also on Zoloft (Setraline) I tell department of health it have her acting like a zombie! Don’t know one want to listen to me❗️I take her to her doctor and they tel me they going to take one step at a time. I’m like dang why y’all just won’t check her brain do something ! Something is just not right my mom every now and then would faint . I call the ambulance and she don’t want to go to the hospital! Her blood sugar was good. I really don’t know what to do at this point. I really don’t. It’s getting to a point where it is causing arguments between my husband and I. I’m only 32 and my husband 28 we have seven children and ever since my step father left her I been stuck with her with no HELP! I’m a travel agent and I have plans for my family this year. It’s stressful because I don’t know what to do with her . I can’t have her standing around looking lost and scaring people. Lord I don’t know...she keep telling me she don’t want to do this or that. I just don’t know anymore.
