My mother is 81 and has dementia. As soon as she sits down any length of time she falls asleep. This is off an on all day. She will even goe get inthe bed at 5 or 6 pm. I am going to start her in adult daycare soon because I figure maybe she is a little bored with no real activity in my home

she sleeps during the night, in fact i have to wake her sometimes if we have dr appts. I sometimes have to make her go to bed at night. Thats why I am putting her in adult day care to get more physical activity, She starting to worry me with the sleeping and sitting around moaning or complaining

I myself had sleep apnea for many years. The only reason I would fall asleep during the day was because I was NOT sleeping at night. Is she going to bed too early? Is she sleeping through the night? Maybe she needs a little more physical activity during the day to let her wear off any excess energy she has.
