You need to get a good physical exam by your doctor. You could have sleep apnea, which causes you to wake up multiple times an hour and ruins your sleep. I've had friends who have had sleep studies done and wake up 60 times an HOUR. Once they get a CPAP machine, their sleep is much improved and they can wake up feeling refreshed.

You could have narcolepsy, which causes you to fall asleep anytime. Or you could have depression, which can cause you to want to sleep your life away. Only a good exam can get to the bottom of what is going on with your body and mind. So make an appointment as soon as possible!

sandy75, that happens to me, too, and I my parents still live independently in their single family house.... I believe stress of worrying about my parents [they are 92 and 96] causes me not to have a good sleep at night..... so whenever I turn on the TV in the afternoon I will find myself dozing off.

How I wish my parents would move to a retirement community and not have to depend on me to take time off from work to drive them to appointments and groceries. I need a good night sleep :0
