I poured through the policy documents.

It seems that Medicare part A pays for hospice provided it is in a hospital setting or in a facility directed by hospice. I also found that on the .gov website.

Ok

But..Medicare Part B is totally silent on this topic. Is it not covered if the service is delivered in home? I see that some of the drugs are covered...but, not clear if that is a part of part B or if you need to rely on Part D

Anyone have some insight? Does hospice need to be in a facility to be covered by Medicare? Anyone have a reference or website to direct me to?

Find Care & Housing
It is my understanding that hospice services are covered by Medicare no matter where they take place. They don't pay for room/board at a facility, just the hospice service.

My husband was on hospice care in our home. Medicare paid for all of it, including the hospice drugs. We paid nothing.
