I need to stay home more and take care of my grandmother. She has fallen a few times and can not take care of herself to well anymore, Bills still need to be paid and I am looking for at home jobs now, but not much luck landing one. Any suggestions?

I was in your situation too. It depends on your area Office of Aging....I was able to gain employment through the company that services the cases assigned through the office of aging. I got all my background checks and clearances. I was THAT company's employee and submitted my timecards every week and was paid regularly for the max of 40 hrs per week. Start with your Local Office of Aging, get her evaluated by her doctor...take this steps before taking her in with you and you will be able to manage much better. Good Luck scott.....

Gran & you would do a personal services contract that is drawn up by an attorney so that it meets whatever is needed in your state and compliant for Medicaid as some day Gran may need to apply for Medicaid; Gran would pay you a set salary that is comparable to what home health services pay in your region (probably between $ 15 - 20 hr and usually a 5 hr day 3 times a week minimum). The income is IRS reportable and you are making income and building up your own SS benefit.
