Find Care & Housing
We found a really nice one made by an Israeli company at a garage sale for a little over $100. The son was selling a lot of his mother's things after her death.

You can try following estate sales; they sometimes have assistive equipment in their inventory.

You could also check on Craigs List, if you're comfortable with that option but you would need transportation to meet the buyer and inspect the scooter.

I don't know if you would be able to get Medicare assistance if you had a prescription from your doctor, but it's worth a try.

If you can, you can contact Durable Medical Equipment (DME) suppliers in your area to see if they carry them.

Sometimes local agencies have a loan closet from which you can borrow items. Check with your senior centers to see if they have any, and contact your local Area Agency on Agency and United Way Help (dial 211) to inquire if they know of any agencies that might loan them.
