What Frequent flyer said. There are income based senior housing all over the US. If you are a Vet the social worker can give you a list of options. Most of these places have waiting lists.
In my area there are Senior apts that rent is determined on a scale according to your income. Call your County disabilities dept. See if they can aim you towards resources.
