When can my wife start a new skilled nursing home claim?

My wife used her 100 days between March and September of 2016. In November she had kidney surgery and needs Skilled Nursing care. We were told she has to wait the 60 days, be re-admitted to hospital for 3 days then she will be able to be admitted at the Skilled Nursing Home, which would be January 25th, 2017. Would there be a new window on January 1st, 2017 since it is a new period, or year?

Let's be realistic, if she needs nursing care, you cannot bounce her in and out. Now sit down with the finance person at the nursing home and either pay from savings or talk about getting her on Medicaid.
