GMBebe, is the spouse leaving the Assisted Living because he needs a higher level of care such as Memory Care? Some times an Assisted Living does have Memory Care at an extra charge. Then that would save the resident from being rattled from having to move, and learn a whole new facility.

As for the 30-day notice, as 97yroldmom had mentioned above, you need to read the original contract to see if the 30 days needs to be at the 1st day of the month, or any time during the month. Some places ask for a 60 day notice.

Why not check out your contract or give the office a call? Regardless of any industry standard I would think for fewer issues I would try to abide by what was contracted for.
Unless, of course, your spouse is in harms way.
Is there a problem with his care?
