When do the nursing homes start taking your social security?

I'm guessing that you were on community based medicaid but are about to or just recently moved into a NH. Is that it? The first full day at the NH is the first day that you need to be paying your SOC (share of cost) of your income (like SS) to the NH. It's pro-rated by the # of days if you move in after the beginning of the month.
