This shouldn't be expensive, but do be careful to make it clear to the insurer - whether it's your mother's insurer or the caregivers' own - that they are driving the car in the course of their paid occupation. It isn't that it makes much difference to the risk, and therefore to the price of the premium; but if the insurance is for private use and the insurer decides that the caregivers' driving constitutes business use the more weaselly types might try to wriggle out of paying in the event of a claim. Read the policy carefully and if in doubt call them up and ask. And check the caregivers' licences and claims histories, too, as far as you can: undisclosed fines or accidents could also invalidate a policy.

If it's a comprehensive policy it usually covers anyone who has permission to drive the car. You should confirm this with the insurance agency.
