My retired military friend age 78, is residing in the memory unit of a private dementia facility suffering from advanced Alzheimers disease; he also has diabetes. Cost of drugs provided by the facility is excessive.

His wife resides in the area and could take the drugs received from TRICARE to the facility.

I am assuming he receives TRICARE as his health insurance. We don't have Memory care in my area. But when Mom was in an AL we had to use their pharmacy but they did use Mom prescription plan for payment. I was not allowed to have prescriptions filled at my pharmacy and take to the AL.

The wife needs to find out why his prescription plan is not being used. Maybe the pharmacy the MC uses doesn't except it. Then she needs to find out if she can have the prescriptions filled at her pharmacy and bring them to the facility.
