I hardly ever soak in tub while I am alone with mom. I usually wait until my husband is home.

I had a headache and thought soaking would help me relax.

Wouldn’t you know, mom fell. The alert button went off and called for help. I had the bathroom door open so I could hear mom. Well, I freaked out when I saw about 6 fireman walking down my hall! Was awfully embarrassing!

I hurried up out of the bath and went to check on mom. I told them that they scared me to death. They said they were scared to come in with the key from the lock box not knowing if I had a gun and would shoot them coming in my house. Too funny!

Thank God, mom was okay. I have no idea how this happens but every once in awhile mom will just slip off her chair. Same with her bed, sitting on the edge. Guess she’s a little too close to the edge.

Falls are fairly common with her Parkinson’s.

Somewhere there’s a joke in there, firemen while soaking in a tub?! As for me and most embarrassing caregiver moment, mine is probably the most common, I’ll just say I’ve seen far more of my father’s body than I ever wanted or intended to, embarrassing for both of us

Yeah,

At least it’s my mom. You know I had a really hard time getting mom to allow me to help her bathe. So modest!

Um, not that funny, about the gun. They were probably not completely joking.

But on the bright side they must have been very glad indeed to see a glamorous lady in a bathrobe instead :)

CM,

Haha, thanks for the laugh. Need it! We can laugh or cry. Sometimes I really do need to laugh.

They weren’t kidding about the gun. Told them I didn’t own a gun. They looked relieved. I am sure it is a concern for them. Some people will shoot at anyone entering their home.
