colemarjorie5, welcome to the forum. Are you asking about those who drop by to check on a person's health needs? Or are you asking about caregivers who are at the house daily? If caregivers, what I did was check around for caregiver Agencies and asked them about the cost.

Many years ago, when my Dad needed around the clock caregivers, I interviewed the Agency rep who came to Dad's house, and she interviewed Dad and I regarding his needs. The cost was $30/hour which added up to over $20,000 per month for 3 shifts daily. Thank goodness Dad saved for this rainy day.

Later Dad sold his house and moved to senior living which was $5k-$6k a month rent on his apartment. He was able to bring with him his 1-shift caregiver (once vetted by the facility) to help him in the mornings. He saved money not needing the 2nd and 3rd shift.
