Home is no longer an option for her. At home she had dementia that slowly increased and she became suspicious, hostile and even violent (keeping caregivers at bay with a knife, barricading herself in her room, hoarding and hiding fire making materials in her walker, sure that I and the other caregivers were out to kill her for her money, etc.). She is calmer now that she is on meds and in the memory care, seems okay, but then tells me she has strange men coming in her room and slapping her. Thinks she is there because I am mad at her for not giving me her old mouth guard. I tell her how much I love her, nor mad...will bring her home when doc says she is ready. She is profoundly deaf (we use white board to talk) and has macular degeneration. In some things, memory still good and she is very healthy physically.
