A Facebook friend w/pending disability case is getting evicted by her twin sister and was told there are no options left for her.....SOS! My friend is 50 years old and lives in Rochester NY, Monroe county. She's got a diagnosed anxiety disorder in which she has been undergoing cognitive/medical treatment for. She currently receives public assistance and free Insurance thru NY state. Her living situation has become dangerous as her sister and brother in law have become verbally and physically abusive and are trying to illegally evict her because a public utility worker report they have more dogs (8) then the local ordinance allows (3). My friends 3 senior dogs are all properly registered and licensed as emotional support dogs. Her sisters 5 are not. Animal control showed up and gave them notice they had to get rid of 5 which is why my friend is getting tossed out with no where to go. Her sister went as far as telling welfare workers she was suicidal and asked if they could come and remove her. They came and found that not to be true. My friend has no car and no public transportation in her area. She was told by her psychologist yesterday that bc she has her dogs and is unwilling to part with them there is nothing they can do to help her and all her assistance, insurance, etc will end 8/1/17. She literally will be homeless and has no other family members to ask help from. Adult protective services offered no help and when my friend asked her case worker for help with basic human needs like getting to store for food all she responds with is "that's not my job". I live in Pennsylvania and am about the only person she trusts to help her figure out a plan. What does someone in her position do? She was afraid to call police about being hit bc often they didn't want to get involved in domestic abuse situations and she knew it would only anger her sister more and add to her own anxiety. Please can you offer any wisdom? She was working so hard towards independent living but her sister wants her out now so she can still break the law with 5 dogs. It's a complete mess! Sorry do long. I appreciate any input.
Sincerely
A kind stranger.

In some areas there are group homes that accept disabled people who need assistance. Google "disabled living New York" and see what comes up,

I think she is going to have to place the dogs. Are there any rescue groups that might help? Then she needs to get whatever help she can getting on her own - I doubt that she has much legal recourse against her sister.
