What does mechanical mean in medical terms?

Dr. said that the enlarged lymph node in dads groin area is mechanical not vascular. And it could not be treated by radiation because that would make it worse. He has hurthle cell carcinoma. And has enlarged lymph nodes in the chest area too. But what does mechanical mean in medical terms?
