My mother is deaf in one ear and wears a hearing aid in the other. (Sometimes. When we insist.) She has lost her good hearing aid and her old one has limited effectiveness. Seems she is always losing her hearing aid, which cost her over $2000. Are there quality hearing aids to be found online. I see many advertised. Has anyone tried any of them? What were the results.

I would be a little sceptical about on-line hearing aides. But I do understand about the money involved in continuing to buy a new one. All you can do is try. She may not hear as well because the digital used now is adjusted for each individual person. And her ear mold won't be fitted to her ear. But you never know till you try it. This has been discussed before and you will get some good suggestions. My husband at one time or another, when his hearing aides have broken before the 3 yrs allowed by our insurance, has tried everything. TV ears, the little transistor radio thing, and a cheap hearing aid. They have all helped him at the time he tried. His hearing is too bad now.
